Is it Taco Tuesday? Taco Thursday? No, it’s Friday, even better. These spicy fish tacos with lime yogurt sauce are SO BOMB, you could have it any day of the week! Plus, who doesn’t love a good taco? To be honest, this is more of a mix between a taco and a burrito given the size. I think the shells are taco shells, but the amount of ingredients I put in belong in a burrito. A Burtaco? Tarrito? Whatever, they’re delicious!
It’s the end of a long week and I think having tacos is a pretty good way to celebrate, don’t you think? It would be really tough for us to pick a favorite food, but tacos are pretty up there. And we also absolutely ♥ spicy food, so these are just fantastic.
The story starts with the fish. I used cod today because that’s what we had in the fridge. That’s the beauty of a taco, you could really substitute the cod with any other fish, or any protein for that matter. Dry it, rub it with the spices, pan fry it, and BAM it’s ready to be assembled with the rest of the ingredients.
Here’s the other star of the dish, Pico De Gallo! It’s just a fancy schmancy way of saying salsa really. The scotch bonnet peppers give quite a kick, so I’ll leave that up to you. Substitute with jalapeno or habanero peppers, or skip it altogether. Since you’re the the chef, you’re the boss of your kitchen!
The creaminess of the avocado and the lime yogurt sauce help cool it down a little bit. Avocados goes on just about everything, like this play on the BLT sandwich.
Give it a try, I think you’ll love it!
